REPRESENTATIVE PAT SULLIVAN SELECTED AS LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
SPOKANE, WA …Representative Pat Sullivan a Democrat from the 47th legislative district was presented with the Legislator of the Year award by the Washington Association for Career and Technical Education (WA-ACTE). The award was presented during a ceremony at the Spokane Red Lion at the Park on August 10th.
Representative Sullivan has a long history of being involved in his community and in politics. He was the first mayor of Covington and serves on the Economic Development Council. He is serving his second term in the House of Representatives.
Representative Sullivan was selected because of his leadership in the Legislature and his strong support of career and technical education (CTE). He serves as Vice Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, serves on the full Appropriations Committee, as well as the Education Committee and Community and Economic Development and Trade committee.
As an example, Pat worked to include funding for CTE equipment and technology in the House of Representatives budget and encouraged support in the final budget. He was part of a team of legislators drafting a comprehensive CTE Bill during the 2008 session and worked hard toward its final passage.
WA-ACTE is pleased to honor Representative Pat Sullivan.
